Description

This is a commission for :iconmirz-alt: it's for Melody, an OC she created with her husband for their fantastic group 'Relativity Comic'

Outfits: (left to right)

Workwear- Melody owns a coffee shop and this outfit is for when she has an important meeting to attend. I see her as someone who would wear something feminine without being too 'girly' and unique. As a shrewd business woman, I've put her holding a tray because in order to sell her business, she'd probably offer to host it at the coffee shop so that the potential investor could savour the scrummy food that they serve! Her outfit is smart but practical- pump shoes because no one who works in a cafe wears heels- a 1950s style skirt with a sash and a smart cardigan over a parisian style blouse (both in blue, her favourite colour and also enhances her eyes.) Her hair (a wig) is kept back from her face with a matching bow- another practical but pretty accessory.

Casual wear- I designed this outfit for when Melody is out with friends, a tunic top with a leaf print (because those with a more petite frame and chest can really pull this look off) with grey leggings to show off her strong, toned legs and leather heeled boots, because every girl should have a pair of heels for hanging out with her girly friends, and I can see Melody's being a part of boots!

Formalwear- I chose this design because again small-breasted women look amazing in low cut gowns like this (I'd even go so far as saying they're the only type of figure who can truly pull this off) Again, because her fav. colour is blue, I've drawn her in a midnight blue silk gown. Around her waist is a grey and violet two-tone silk sash, which is sewn onto the dress and her hair is done up in a Grecian style with an elegant hairband. Now, Melody doesn't wear a lot of jewelry, however, this is a special event, so I thought the diamond necklace around her neck shaped like teardrops would not only protect her modesty but would probably also be a weapon in disguise ;)

Martial Arts/Karate- this was the most challenging outfit to design, firstly because I know diddly squat about either sport and secondly because I struggled at first to put my own design stamp on such a simple outfit. In the end I sort of took influences from both in order to create my own. The black belt around the waist acts also as a corset to help Melody work on her breathing skills (inspired by Kill Bill lol) and yet it has bands on it to show her level of expertise and skill. The trousers have a golden dragon embroidered on the leg- a little 'Inky Rose' touch ;)

Cosplay- Melody likes attending renaissance fairs and similar events, so this outfit was the most fun to design! I was torn at first over the colour scheme, I'm not sure Melody would like pink, so I tried to deepen and vary the shades I used. The embroidery on the oven gown was the most fun to design! :D

Such a lithesome character! To go from Tai-Chi to renaissance cosplay, she sure is unique!
