Heart in the clouds by InkyRose Heart in the clouds by InkyRose
This is a preview of my prize for AlexandrianBreeze for entering my contest. She won first place- congratulations!
This is her OC, Parker: [link]
Who she wanted to wear a victorian style outfit. Forgive me for not going with the ballgown- but I had a sudden idea to do a victorian version of her pilot jacket! Think steampunk and zeppelins- I bet she'd have fun flying one of those.
The title is a play on words from the phrase 'head in the clouds' so 'heart in the clouds' means that her heart is with the sky, not on earth. I hope I've done her justice. A background will be added, but only Breeze will see it. I'll be sending off all three prizes this week! :D

(Forgive the quality- it's A2 size so I had to take a picture on my phone!)

As usual, you did a gorgeous job designing the clothes and shading the wrinkles in them. I also really love the pose. It's sort of :iconfuckyeaplz:-ish

ha ha! Yes, there is quite a haughty 'I don't care what you think!' look about her!

Merci Beaucoup!!! That is AWESOME! She's so out of this world! That title fits perfectly with Parker, she really does have her heart in the clouds ;) I LOVE her outfit, it's better than the gown! I like how it's feminine and classy but gives off a nice jaunty adventurer vibe too, fabulous! If you ever design something like this, I'll be the first to buy it! :D
The colours conjure up images of old world glamour and steampunk sassiness, and I adore the slight hints of military allure in the gold buttons. And her hat! C'est vraiment magnifique! It gives her both a sense of mystery and emphasizes her inner cheekiness. The pose is fantastic, she's like "you aint got nothin' on me, people". Her eyes are soooo pretty! They grab you in and take off to world of mellow lit Victorian gloriousness. And I love her updo, she finally looks like a lady! :D
As always, I love your sleek outlining and sharp sense of composition, as well as your impeccable understanding of style, please do the fashion world a favour and show 'em how its done!
Thank you so much!!! If I ever writer a book about her, I 'll include this picture in the illustrations.

Yay!! I'm sooo pleased you like this picture! I sent it off today, please let me know when you get it ;)
Ha ha! I'm not THAT great at fashion design- if people still wanted to dress as they did 100/200 years ago, then I'd still be in business! It took me agggess to complete this but it was totally worth-while! I hope you like the background I've added- which you'll see when it arrives :)
Please do write a story about her- I would love to read it! :D

Pleased? I'm absolutely in love with it! I downloaded it and have it as my laptop's background :D I just love how the intense black shading on her jacket (her jacket! I need to get that jacket!!!) contrasts nicely with her alabaster skin, very Pre-Raphaelite! I really can't wait to see the background you've made, the picture is stunning enough as it is! Yes, I can tell you've spent an enormous amount of time and effort on this (you shouldn't have, but thank you!) and it is not at all easy drawing with such detail on an A2, I really appreciate it, and the results are jawdroppingly magnificent! And come to think of it, I've never actually had a clear image of Parker in my head until now, you've really helped me flesh out the character; she seems so much more believable now, thanks! Now I'm no expert on fashion, although I have my moments of being utterly captivated and doing nothing but staring at the little (attractively expensive) dress in the window, but I firmly believe that it changes all the time, and maybe we might want to dress like we did a century or two ago, I know that vintage and "preppy style/ivy league" (for boys AND girls!...not that I can tell the difference nowadays!)are all the rage right now, and I've even seen chic 40-ish women wearing corsets. Seriously, you have a talent for all things creative! :)
Gosh, a month and half to absolutely nothing, I should follow your example and actually something! Wish me luck! :#1:

Nice :) I like how her hat tips down slightly, giving her a slight adventurer look :D the shading on her pilot jacket gives it extra depth. Good job!
