Duty: Part Two

This is a picture showing one of our couples Tristan (Sleyf's OC) and Elysia (my OC). This is set ten years after their first meeting- when after having been driven apart, wars, assassinations, forced betrothals, abuse, imprisonment, poverty and ruin on her part, an arranged marriage, fatherhood and widowhood for him, they are reunited.  They discover that their feelings have grown even stronger, and they fall deeper in love, only to be parted by duty once more- Elysia's fortunes take a turn for the better and she finds herself rich and powerful again, but will her new duties cost her the love of her life?

This is an illustration of their farewell, in the gardens of Ashgrove, as Elysia prepares to leave to assume her new role- as lives and nations are at stake- not just her love life! Even so, it is a moving scene and I simply had to draw it- I am sooo proud with how it turned out! *strokes picture*
